Bad weather can be hazardous even if you are a safe driver. Like other motorists, you might underestimate the dangers of inclement conditions and fail to take the necessary precautions to mitigate the risk of a collision.
Here is what you need to know to help protect yourself and your passengers on the road in bad weather.
Use the correct lights
Precipitation of all types can make it difficult for you to detect cars and other hazards on the road. It can also prevent fellow motorists from seeing you. Make sure to use your headlights in poor weather. In fog, though, you should avoid using your bright lights, which can reflect off moisture in the air and make it even harder to see. Opt for your low beams or fog lights instead.
