Several Illinois residents injured in a car accident

Seven Illinois residents have been injured in a car accident involving four vehicles that took place in Chicago. It appears that the reckless driving and high speeds of one driver caused the car accident on the North Side. While the driver only hit one vehicle, the impact caused the vehicle to move forward, therefore impacting two additional vehicles.

Of the cars impacted by the accident, three were sport utility vehicles and one was a sedan. Seven people sustained injuries in the crash and were taken for treatment at local hospitals. At least four of the injured victims are listed in serious condition. There is no indication of the specific nature of the injuries sustained.

The driver believed to be responsible received necessary medical treatment and was taken into police custody at the hospital. There is no word on the nature of his injuries and he has not yet been formally charged with specific crimes. Police have stated that charges are pending against the man relating to his alleged contribution to this serious accident.

The victims who have sustained injuries through no fault of their own could consider filing a personal injury suit against the Illinois driver who caused the accident. There may be sufficient evidence to prove that the driver is liable for any of the injuries or accident-related expenses that were incurred. A close evaluation can determine if there is enough burden of proof from the car accident to pursue financial compensation. Personal injury cases are best handled with a solid understanding of the applicable laws of the specific state where the accident occurred.
