Drunk driving accident kills 2 young Illinois women

When one has a teenage child, letting them get behind the wheel of a car and start driving can be a scary thought. One must be able to teach one’s child to make safe driving decisions, and one must trust that one’s child will heed those lessons. However, many parents are not so much afraid of their own child’s driving, but they are instead afraid of the unpredictability of all the other drivers on the road. For the parents of two Illinois teenagers, their fears came true when the two young women were killed in a drunk driving accident.

The young man who is believed to have caused the crash was arrested for several different offenses. The young man already had a warrant out for his arrest at the time of the wreck for violating probation. He was driving drunk, and he was driving on the wrong side of the road; however, no formal charges have yet been made.

The young man was driving a Dodge minivan on the Eisenhower Expressway in Chicago. He crossed the center line into the wrong way of traffic, and he slammed his car into a Ford. Three young women were inside of the Ford, and two of the teenagers died.

Illinois police stated that the young man is expected to face aggravated DUI charges, and he may also face other charges resulting from the drunk driving accident. Once the young man is charged, the families of the two young women may want to file for wrongful death claims because of the accident. If successful, these claims could compensate the families for funeral costs as well as the pain and suffering they are enduring because of the loss of the young women.
