Auto accident claims 2 men's lives

Two men have sadly lost their lives in an Illinois car crash. The auto accident took place at a street intersection on a recent Monday night. Now, the two men's families are left to grieve and to question what could have caused the tragic collision.

The recent accident occurred at about 9:26 p.m. According to police, one of the men was driving a car speedily along a street. The car then reportedly left the street and collided with a tree.

Police reported that the driver had failed to come to a halt at a stop sign prior to the accident. The man, 29, and his male passenger, 21, both passed away at the scene of the single-vehicle crash. Police said that alcohol may have been a causal factor in the crash.

The surviving loved ones of the passenger who died in the crash may opt to file a wrongful death claim in this situation, seeking the reimbursement of monetary damages. Even though the man who reportedly caused the crash died as a result of it, his estate could still be named in the lawsuit. In the same way, anyone else who owned the car at the time of the crash could face the wrongful death lawsuit.

Liability must be established, based upon a showing of negligence, before a judge in Illinois will decide claims for monetary damages in connection with the auto accident. A case that is fought successfully may lead to a damage award to cover funeral costs. Monetary damage claims may also help to cover emotional distress stemming from the fatal car accident.
