Investigation ongoing into fatal St. Louis crash

A fatal chain reaction crash in St. Louis left one person dead and three injured, as the police try to figure out exactly what happened in the unfortunate incident. The crash occurred last week when a vehicle headed westbound on Reavis Barracks rear-ended a second vehicle. That second vehicle was pushed into oncoming traffic, leading to it getting struck by a third vehicle.

The driver of the first vehicle that triggered the entire incident is a 19-year-old man who survived the crash but was hospitalized in stable condition. Two people were injured in the second vehicle. One is a 19-year-old woman who is in stable condition at a hospital, but the other is a 48-year-old woman who was rushed in for emergency surgery and is said to be in "extremely critical condition."

Sadly, the driver of the third vehicle, a 43-year-old man, was killed in the accident. The Bureau of Crimes Against Persons is investigating the entire incident, and there will likely be more news about this chain reaction crash soon.

There are two lessons to learn here. The first is that the investigation into any car accident is very important. The report that is file by the police could support your legal claims, and if new information comes to light after the report is filed, it could be updated to accurately reflect the situation.

Another lesson is that chain reaction crashes like this are complicated, both from a litigation standpoint and an insurance standpoint. The victims of these accidents need to be aware of this if they decide to pursue legal action.
